The attentive ear, the instructive tongue, and the faithful breast

The three precious jewels of a Fellow Craft Mason—the attentive ear, the instructive tongue, and the faithful breast.  This reminds us that we listen, provide counsel and develop a lifelong devotion to demonstrate our teachings inside and outside the lodge.

The adage of 2 ears and 1 mouth admonishes us to listen first, then speak our opinions, observations, assessments and recommendations.  I believe it also encourages us to ask questions of others for their ideas about how we can get the outcomes we are committed to.

How can you participate in your lodge and put the three precious jewels into action?  Are there men that need to be heard, need words of encouragement or simply a good friend?  How can you put these into action with your loved ones?
